Description Description: arm length to 40 mm, disc diameter to 8 mm. Disc scales bearing granules. Disc variable in colour from mottled pale green and cream to violet and orange. Arms pale orange, banded with darker orange. Seven arm spines. Habitat: diverse reef substrates.
General distribution: tropical, Indo-Malayan Region, Philippines, Indian Ocean, depth range 5-15 m. (Rowe & Gates, 1995); W Indian Ocean and Red Sea (Richmond, 1998).
Also distributed in Maldive area, East Indies, north Australia and Philippine (Clark & Rowe, 1971); Australia (Rowe & Gates, 1995).
