Several families of polychaetous annelids are represented in the collection.
The Nereidae are Nereis pelagica Linnaeus and N. tongatabuensis McIntosh.
Of the Leodicide, Diopatra neapolitana Delle Chiaje is represented by a single specimen, and there is a fragment of a tube of some leodicid. There are a few fragments of Chaetopterus, too much injured for identification, and a considerable number of specimens of Dasychonopsis (Dasychone) bairdii McIntosh. The appearance of this last species is unexpected, since it was first described from the West Indies, but it is evident that a sessile species like this might be easily transported on the bottom of ships.}, author = {Treadwell, Aaron L.}, journal = {American Museum Novitates}, note = {World Polychaeta Database (WPolyDb).
