Remark Type species: Cucumaria sinorbis Cherbonnier, 1952 by original designation (Thandar, 1987).This genus has been erected by Thandar, 1987 to accommodate three southern African valid species that have been confused (Cucumaria sykion, C. insolens and C. sinorbis). Also the genus Semperia used for C. sykion by Lampert, is preoccupied, having been used by Crosse (1867) for the Mollusca (Thandar, 1987). [details]
