Description Up to 2 cm, description as family. Colour dark brown to black, with white or yellow spots or zigzag lines. Aperture toothed, violet in colour. Habitat: eulittoral coral and sand. Distribution: Indo-Pacific. N.B. at least six other species occur in the region. Similar to Columbella and Mitrella, the other main genera in the family (both with taller spires and more pronounced whorls). (Richmond, 1997). [details]
