Taxonomy Described based on two taxa. Böggemann (2002) reported on the two syntypes, noting that Augener had assigned one (now lost) to G. americana. The other, which he reported does not correspond to the G. cirrata description, Böggemann assigned to G. brevicirris. Note that G. cirrata is senior to G. brevicirris if the remaining specimen had resembled the G. cirrata description [gbr Dec 2013]. [details]

Taxonomy Strangely Hartman Catalogue (p.289) separately listed a "Glycera cirrata Fauvel, 1932" as if it was a new name of Fauvel's. This is not the case and Fauvel's record was intended to be of Grube's taxon. Hartman may have only intended to indicate Fauvel's description was not of Grube's species, and in fact Böggemann (2002:69) later placed Fauvel's material, as well as G. manorae Fauvel 1932 in the same monograph, as G. cinnamonea [gbr Dec, 2013] [details]
