Description Appearance in life: shaggy tentacles white in reflected light and pale blue in transmitted colour of ventral and dorsal surfaces mid brown with white papillae, where body wall expanded the papillae expand to translucent white patches (Humphreys, 1981).
Also distributed in Australia inKalk (1958) and Rowe & Gates (1995); SE Arabia; Persian Gulf, Maldive area, Ceylon, Bay of Bengal, East Indies, north Australia, Philippine, China, south Japan, South Pacific Is.aAnd Hawaiian Is. (Clark & Rowe, 1971); India (Sastry, 1996).
General distribution: Tropical Indo-Pacific in Kalk (1958); from the Red Sea to Hawaii (Tortonese, 1980); tropical Indo-west Pacific Ocean (also Panama), depth range 0-30 m. (Rowe & Gates, 1995).
Ecology: benthic, inshore, detritus feeder, deposit feeder (Rowe & Gates, 1995). [details]
