Description Width to 20 cm. Bell slightly pointed, robust and smooth, edged with a skirt furrowed between the fused lappets. Mouth-artms tripartite with a short proximal portion, mouthlets situated on the central portion, and a prominent smooth, triangular, rounded terminal portion; no filaments. Bell varies from chocolate-coloured through yellowish-brown to milky yellow, with purple-brown blotches especially peripherally. Habitat: coastal, sometimes in estuaries. Distribution: W Indian Ocean, Arabian Gulf to India. C. stuhlmanni (Chun) and C. annandalei Rao, are conspecific (Richmond, 1997). [details]
