Diagnosis Corallum arborescent, with calices arranged in a unifacial manner; coenosteum thick and not costate but instead covered with thin serrate ridges; epitheca absent; septa arranged in Pourtalès plan; pali absent; columella robust, discrete, labyrinthiform; zooxanthellate. [details]

Remark This genus and family were monographed by Cairns (2001), which included a phylogenetic analysis based on morphology. Monotypic, occurring in both Recent and fossil record. [details]
