Taxonomic remark Watson (2000) proposed to transfer Sertularia mertoni to Dynamena mertoni. However, she did not mention the diagnostic difference of the two genera: the abcauline caecum which is only present in Sertularia.
According to Stechow & Müller (1923), the presence or absence of the caecum in the type material of Sertularia mertoni could no not be established [details]
