Type specimen Glasby and Hutchings (1987) noted that the syntype from Valparaiso, Chile they redescribed, based on some evidence it was probably one of Grube's type specimens of Terebella comata, did not agree with the published description given by Grube (1859). No details of the discrepancies were given. [details]
