Habitat Among tunicates, Ciona intestinalis (Linnaeus, 1767), and hydroids, Eudendrium rameum (Pallas, 1766), Halecium halecinum (Linnaeus, 1758), Obelia bidentata Clark, 1875 and Bougainvillia muscus (Allman, 1863), just below extreme low-water spring tide level (Norfolk, UK), from shallow bottoms down to 40 m depth in mud, among shells and detritus (Ria de Aveiro, Portugal), and in fine sand with gravel with bryozoans (Electra pilosa (Linnaeus, 1767), Walkeria uva (Linnaeus, 1758)), and hydrozoans (Clynia hemisphaerica (Linnaeus, 1767), Lovenella clausa (Lovén, 1836), Obelia bidentata Clark, 1875, Obelia longissima (Pallas, 1766), Eucheilota maculata Hartlaub, 1894, Leuckartiara octona (Fleming, 1823)), at 18.6-39 m depth (German Bight).  [details]

Reproduction Schizogamous reproduction by gemmiparity behind chaetiger 30 (n=1), 33 (n=1), 34 (n=1), 37 (n=2), 39 (n=1), 40 (n=2), 43 (n=4), 45 (n=1), 46 (n=4), or 47 (n=1). Stolon-bearing specimens found at all sampling periods, in February, April, May, October and December. Fully developed stolons not observed.  [details]
