Nomenclature Spiochaetopterus challengeriae is a preliminary name for Phyllochaetopterus claparedii, and was accidentally published in the habitat note for Polynoe ocellata in the Challenger report. Johnson (1897: 169), when quoting from McIntosh, is unaware of this error, and uses the name again in comments about the polynoid Polynoe brevisetosa (Kinberg) [details]
