Also recorded from Maldive area, Ceylon, Bay of Bengal, East Indies, north Australia, Philippine, china, south Japan, South Pacific Is. and Hawaiian Is. (Clark & Rowe, 1971); Australia (Rowe & Gates, 1995).
Ecology: benthic, inshore, detritus feeder, deposit feeder. General distribution: tropical, Indo-west Pacific, central-west America, Mexico (Pacific coast), shallow water (Rowe & Gates, 1995).
In shallow water (0-4 m.) of well sheltered areas (Massin, 1996). [details]
