Classification The genus Brochus is a synonym to Caecum J. Fleming, 1813 in Mollusca. The species Brochus arcuatus Brown, 1827 is suggested to be a subjective synonym to Ditrupa arietina, in Serpulidae (Annelida), not Mollusca, although this placement may not be reliable and it could be a mollusc. The reassignment is recorded in the Polychaeta checklist of Hartman (1959: 569), but it is not known who made the synonymy. Earlier Mörch (1863) had recombined the species into the serpulid genus Ditrupa. [details]
