As a result of significant changes in the taxonomy of the family Onuphidae, in the genus Paradiopatra, two species with the same name, P. fauchaldi, appeared. Paradiopatra kirkegaardi is proposed as a new name for P. fauchaldi (Kirkegaard 1988), a junior homonym to P. fauchaldi Buzhinskaya 1985. The two species discussed are described in detail.
