A new thecideid brachiopod genus Pajaudina, with type species P. atlantica n. sp., is described from specimens collected in the vicinity of the Canary and Salvage Islands, southeast North Atlantic (Recent). On the basis of general morphology and shell microstructure the genus is assigned to the subfamily Lacazellinae and comparisons and inferred phylogenetic relationships are made with other genera, both fossil and Recent, of this subfamily
