Two colonies of a new hydroid Lytocarpus protectus sp. n. (Plumulariidae, Aglaopheniinae) were found in the bathyal of the Pacific Ocean. Two localities are situated far from each other (Kyashu-Palau Ridge and the middle part of the Kurlie Isls (Russian SFSR, USSR)).
