Synonymy Martin et al (2022) treat Loimia gigantea (Montagu, 1819) as a valid species name and regard Loimia ramzega Lavesque et al, 2017 from Brittany as its junior synonym. They do not present a formal synonymy or a taxon description for Loimia gigantea. As the last commentators (Lavesque et al, 2021: 36) on the original name of Terebella gigantea recommended it should be a nomen dubium until a neotype is designated and described, the synonymy should be tentative until confirmed. Users are free to adopt the synonymy if they wish. [details]
