Taxonomic Remark The species was transferred from Microspio to Dispio by Intes & Le Loeuff (1977: 220-221, fig. 1a-i), with base on numerous specimens from Ivory Coast and on a record from the island of Annobón by Amoureux (1973: 60). Maciolek (1990: 1112, table 1) considered the species to belong to Spio, apparently based only on the original description and probably unaware of the work by Intes & Le Loeuff (1977). The recombination as Dispio africana is followed here, as, according to its authors, "Ces spécimens [from the Ivory Coast] correspondent parfaitement à la description de Rullier (1964) d’après un exemplaire des îles du Cap Vert" (Intes & Le Loeuff, 1977: 220). [details]
