Taxonomy The genus Eostichopus was erected by Deichmann (1958: 279). However, this name was considered as a nomen nudum by Cutress & Miller (1982) because Deichmann gave only the name Eostichopus without referring to a type species or to any other species [EostichopusDeichmann, 1958 (nomen nudum)]. Cutress & Miller used the same genus name, Eostichopus (with another definition as the one of Deichmann), to accomodate their new species arnesoni[details]
