Synonymy  Malmgren included several species in the new genus Ampharete, but the first listed is "Ampharete grubei" which appears to be an unnecessary new name for Amphicteis acutifrons Grube. Instead of recombining Grube's name Malmgren invented an entirely new name for it. Hessle (1917) places Ampharete grubei as a synonym of Ampharete acutifrons. [details]
