Note Northern Adriatic Sea, near Trieste, Italy...
From editor or global species database
Type locality Northern Adriatic Sea, near Trieste, Italy (geocoordinates not provided, estimated with gazetteer to be approximately lat. 45.66, long. 13.74). According to Wiktor (1980) there are 4 possible syntypes deposited at the MPW (No. 399), collected near Hvar Island (= Lesina), Croatia. Grube (1855) does not refer this locality in his original description of the species, for which reason probably these specimens are not part of the type material. [details]
Type material Three syntypes deposited at the Museum Przyrodnicze Universitetu Wroclawskiergo (MPW, Poland), with the reference No. 399. All 3 syntypes in poor condition (Lattig et al., 2007). Wiktor (1980) points that it is not clear that these specimens are syntypes, as Grube (1855: 104) gives the type locality as being Trieste ("bei Triest"). [details]
