Homonymy This combination is a junior primary homonym of Spongia papyracea Esper, 1794, now accepted as Phyllospongia papyracea. Hyatt's sponge is a Spongia of uncertain identity, but not synonymous with Esper's species. Technically it has to be renamed. Re-examination of the type material is necessary. [details]
