Harmful effect Strains from the Italian Mediterranean found to produce domoic acid (0.1-282.5 fg/cell) (Amato et al 2010). A strain from Peru produced domoic acid: n 0.004 to 0.010 pg/cell (Tenorio et al 2021) [details]
