Diagnosis Body elongate, slender, and cylindrical. Prostomium blunt, entire, with lateral horns. Acicular setae and furcate setae lacking; branchiae absent; capillary setae in both rami with hisute hooded geniculate setae in neuropodia.  [details]

Grammatical gender Neuter. Bertelsen (1986) correctly states the genus is neuter gender, and reinforces that by choosing a neuter adjectival species-group name, 'lanzaroteum' [details]
