Taxonomy Augener (1914: 31) placed a new species as Scoloplos (Naidonereis) dubius but later (1924) decided this species was a Paraonis when he recorded it from the Auckland Islands, and in any case the Naidonereis usage of Malmgren is merely a misspelling of Naineris. Thus the combination as a subgenus under Scoloplos is a misidentification. [details]
