Habitat At type locality found in ramifying burrows in fine black mud which collects between the halves of dead windowpane oyster shells, or between adjoining shells, in brackish water (11.0-19.0 p.p.t.) at shallow depths (1-4 fathoms; 1.8-7.3 m). Other localities in salt water, between 8-35 m.
