Type locality Unknown. Hartman catalogue (1959: 326) reports the locality as France, but this is not correct. The specimen seen by Lamarck was "de la collect. stathoudérienne" and a stadtholder (obsolete) was at the time a high administrative official in the Low Countries, thus Netherlands or Belgium today. The original geographic collection location could have been a colony elsewhere of one of those two countries. [details]
