Editor's comment indeterminable. Attributed to Galeolaria caespitosa by Mörch (1863: 368), this cannot hold since the distribution of that taxon is not in the Indian Ocean as given by Lamarck; moreover according to Bieler (1969: 31-32) belonging to the Vermetidae. In the MNHN Paris the alleged syntypes of subcrenata , from King Island, Bass Strait, belong to G. caespitosa; however, these cannot be syntypes since in contradiction with Lamarck's locality. The V. crenata of Halt et al. (2009: 217) is a lapsus calami. [details]From other sources
