Synonymy Conspecific with Porania magellanica Studer, 1876, which is currently treated as a subspecies of P. antarctica E.A. Smith, 1876 following Madsen (1956), which it antedates. But Philippi's types lost so suppression by the ICZN is desirible. [details]
