Type specimen Thomas (1998) erected this species without indicating a holotype, which means that the 'several bits' - though potentially being part of a single specimen as suggested by Thomas - are part of a syntype series (ICZN Article 73.2). Moreover, Thomas is very vague about the whereabouts of his 'bits', possibly they are in the Central Marine Fisheries Institute of Cochin, India.  [details]
