Direct child taxa [show all] | | Genus Scopalina Schmidt, 1862
Genus Svenzea Alvarez, van Soest & Rützler, 2002
|
| Environment | | marine, brackish, fresh, terrestrial |
| Fossil range | | recent only |
| Note | |
In the molecular trees produced by Morrow et al. (2012) species of the genera Scopalina and Svenzea, assigned to the family Dictyonellidae in the Systema Porifera, come out as a monophyletic group distant from other dictyonellid genera and distant from all other G4 groups. For the time being we assign this family to the (likely polyphyletic) order Halichondrida until the G4 group is sufficiently resolved to rearrange the families. [details]
