Taxonomic remark Lowry & Kilgallen, 2014 rediagnosed the genus Uristes based on a redescription of the type species Uristes gigas Dana, 1852. Consequently, a number of species were removed from the genus and transferred to other genera. The taxa placed in this temporary name (non-Uristidae) were removed from the genus and placed into incertae sedis (unknown family).  [details]
