Diagnosis Original diagnosis by Malmgren (1867: 93): ''Corpus elongatum sublineare postice sensim paullum attenuatam. Lobus cephalicus brevis parte frontale parum elevata subrectangulare apice transversa. Antennae nullae. Tentaculum haud conspicuum. Oculi nulli. Tubercula setigera similia pinnis compressis parum discretis, labiis minutis, magnis foliaceis modo in segmentis 4 anticis obviis. Branchiae, paria 4, liberae in segmentis 4 anticis obviae, dorso adnatae, paris primi et quarti aequales ceteris longiores pinnatae, paris secundi et tertii multo breviores aequales filiformes. Setae in segmentis anticis modo capillares in utraque pinna, in posticis segmentis capillares et uncinatae in pinna ventrali, modo capillares in dorsali. Setae capillares versus apicem attenuatum curvatum anguste limbatae in segmentis anticis, in posticis rectae tenuissime attenuatae haud limbatae. Uncini rostrati apice limbati, vertice unidentati.
