Distribution Australia, widespread north of about 32°S on the west coast, and about 35°S on the east coast: Western Australia (widespread); Northern Territory (Darwin Habour; Port Essington); Queensland (north of 35°S). [details]
Etymology The specific epithet tantabiddycreekensis refers to the type locality of the species, Tantabiddy Creek (Exmouth, Western Australia, Australia). [details]
Habitat Occurs intertidally to dephts of 20 m often in reef environments, either rock or coral, associated with the kelp Ecklonia radiata, coralline algae, seagrasses, Vermetidae and algal mats; also in heavily bored and rotten wood lying on the floor of mangrove forests, sometimes associated with Posidonia seagrass beds.
