Publication
World Polychaeta Database (WPolyDb). This is apparently the earliest published version of 'annelides chétopodes du Golfe de Naples', with the first part of the journal version also published in 1868, and another book version in 1870. Claparède’s 1868 book publication was mentioned in the Zoological Record for the year 1868 by Wright (1869: 535) [fide Vasily Radashevsky]
It is claimed (Fauchald, 1989, Riser lecture) that Claparède "deposited no specimens in any museum", but how Fauchald established this is not clear. The fate of Claparède's personal collection is unknown.
