Grammatical gender Feminine. Past authors treat the genus as feminine. If the second part of the name is based on Nereis, which is feminine, then this is logical. [details]

Spelling Misspelled 'Nainereis' in the index of Fauchald (1977), but correct 'Naineris' in the identification key (p. 15) and the body of the text (p. 16)  [details]
