Taxonomy In recent studies, e.g. Morrow et al. 2011, several groups considered Poecilosclerida in the Systema Porifera have been demonstrated to have gene sequences placing them outside the order, e.g. chela-lacking Raspailiidae and Desmacellidae. Until a consistent replacement classification has become confirmed, we continue using the classification of the Systema Porifera. [details]
