Homonymy Disoma Örsted, 1844 is a junior homonym to protozoan Disoma Ehrenberg 1831 (pls. 1828) Sym. Phys., Phyt., sign. c. Chamberlin (1919) replaced Disoma by Disomides and the family name was altered accordingly to Disomididae. However Trochochaeta Levinsen 1884 (a posterior end of Disoma multisetosum) has priority (fide Pettibone, 1963) [details]
