Distribution The Eastern Mediterranean record of this species by Babic (1922) was synonymized by Topsent (1939) with Phorbas fictitius. However, the species was subsequently recorded again from the Eastern Mediterranean by Voultsiadou & Vafidis (2004). [details]

Distribution The Eastern Mediterranean record of this species by Babic (1922) was synonymized by Topsent (1939) with Phorbas fictitius. However, the species was subsequently recorded again from the Eastern Mediterranean by Voultsiadou & Vafidis (2004). [details]

Synonymy Alander (1942) suggested this to be a junior synonym of H. proteidea (Schmidt, 1868), but failed to provide further evidence. Moreover, H. proteidea is a an accepted junior synonym of Phorbas fictitius. [details]
