Note Jousseaume (1880) designated Murex bracteatus...
Type species Jousseaume (1880) designated Murex bracteatus Brocchi, 1814 (misspelled bactreatus) as type species. However as Monterosato (1872) used this name for a Recent species which is considered different and is currently known as Hirtomurex squamosus (Bivona Ant. in Bivona And., 1838), ICZN art. 70.3 could apply and either the fossil or the Recent species could be thereby designated as the type species.
