Spelling ICZN ARTICLE 11.9.1.2. stipulates that a species group name if a noun in the nominative must be a noun in the nominative singular standing in apposition to the generic name.
"Pseudoscalaria" (pseudo-scalaria = pseudo-staircase) if considered a noun is a nominative plural and can not be kept.
The feminine declension in the nominative of the adjective "scalaris" is "scalaris" not "scalaria". [details]
