Diagnosis From Osborn et al (2013): "Part of the proboscis skeleton is a tubular sheath immediately surrounding the collar nerve cord for most of its length; the sheath is four to five times thicker than the extracellular basal lamina described around the collar cords of other enteropneusts." Etymology Name is derived from combining the Greek roots "koleos" (sheath) and "desmos" (cord). [details]
