Douarnenez was a thriving fishing port until the late 1970s and early 1980s, but there has been a sharp decline since. The fishing activity is marginal today but many boats are still landing their catch in Douarnenez. It is also a major yacht harbor of Brittany, together with Tréboul and Port-Rhu.[1]
