Hydrophis lapemoides
Description I have found alive sea snake at the seacoast in Porbandar, Gujarat,India (Dt.13/8/17.) I have confirmed about the species with I have confirmed the species with Arne Rasmussen(Rasmussen, A. R. 1993. The status of the Persian Gulf sea snake Hydrophis lapemoides (Gray 1849) (Serpentes: Hydrophiidae) [includes a redescription]. Bull. nat. Hist. Mus. Lond. (zool.) 59(2): 97-105.)I cannot find any official reporting of this snake from Arabian sea coast of Gujarat State,India.Probably this is the first such recorded instance from Arabian Sea Coast Region of Gujarat. ·
