Etymology Shaihuludia shurikeni is named from 'shuriken' the "Japanese word for throwing star, for the overall shape of the bladelike chaetae." The authors do not explain how the 'i' suffix (usually used to form a masculine genitive of a personal name) Latinizes the species name. The gender of the genus is unstated. [details]
