Nomenclature Erected for Pholoides, now in Sigalionidae. Fauchald (1977) included Pholoe in Sigalionidae, but not Pholoides. Hence Pholoididae [new family name] was based on Pholoides, as Peisidicidae was believed invalid on synonymy of Peisidice Johnson 1897 into Pholoides Pruvot, 1895. However, this was an unnecessary new name as the code does not require a family name to be replaced if its genus is a synonym [G. Read comment] [details]
