A new species of Scolelepis (Polychaeta: Spionidae), S. (S.) angulata, new species, is described based on material collected from intertidal flats and subtidal waters in the South China Sea and the Yellow Sea, China. Scolelepis (S.) angulata, new species, is characterised by having a prostomium with short lateral angles, notochaetae on setiger 1, and bidentate hooded hooks. This species inhabits intertidal zones and shallow subtidal waters characterised by sandy mud.
