The purpose of this application is to conserve Phyllodoce Lamarck, 1818 as the name for a genus of marine polychaetes. It is threatened by the unused senior homonym Phyllodoce Ranzani, 1817, which is also a senior objective synonym of Polyodontes de Blainville, 1828.
