TY - JOUR AB - Introduction begins: "This paper is the first of a series dealing with the polychaetous annelids of Bank's Peninsula. The material studied includes collections made by the writer at various localities round Bank's Peninsula and by the staff of the Zoology Department, Canterbury University College; as well as a large number of specimens from the Collection of the Canterbury Museum. Ten species are recorded including a new and interesting species of the genus Nicon Kinberg from the Heathcote Estuary. This is the first record of this genus from New Zealand. Of the ten species five have previously been recorded from Akaroa by Augener in his report on the Polychaeta collected by the Mortensen Pacific Expedition.
